New Project: Development Team Coaching at 24+

Since September 2025, I have started as a freelance Development Team Coach at 24+.

In this role, I support the development team in professionalizing their way of working, enabling closer and more effective collaboration with the business.

 

 

The challenge

 

Over the past years, the team has built valuable applications to support the business operations. At the same time, the need for more structure, clear processes, and stronger alignment with business stakeholders has become evident. Deadlines were not always met, documentation was limited, and there was room for improvement in how projects were managed and delivered.

 

 

My assignment

 

  • In the coming months, my focus will be on:
  • Coaching the developers in best practices and professional collaboration
  • Introducing a lightweight project management approach based on SCRUM principles
  • Establishing release management and code review workflows
  • Improving documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Building stronger bridges between business and development to clarify priorities
  • Training the team in new skills and tools to strengthen their long-term capabilities

 

 

Objective

 

  • Within six months, our goal is to have a stable, well-functioning development team that:
  • Meets deadlines consistently
  • Works transparently with the business
  • Operates with clear and repeatable processes
  • Is ready to successfully deliver future projects

 

 

Reflection

 

For me, this project is a textbook example of Project & Team Recovery: a situation where valuable results have already been achieved, but where structure, guidance, and knowledge building are needed to take the next step. By combining technical expertise, process design, and coaching, I aim to help this team grow towards a sustainable professional level.
